Growler

Growler is a producer of quality tech breaks and is also the label founder. Based out of Perth Australia, he has over 15 years experience of rocking dancefloors as a DJ and producer under various aliases. His musical experiences started many moons ago with forays into classical and jazz, moving on to rock and electronic music.

He has held DJ residencies and played smashing sets at DCs, Geisha, The Globe, The Leederville, Ambar and Heat amongst others.

Way back from the G-Styles days he has been well known for the ability to smoothly and subtly crank the energy in the room. You can hear his current stylings on The Backyard Project on Friday nights as a part of the Phase Animator Tech Funk Sessions.

Phase Animator

Phase Animator is the tech spaceship flown by _banglassi and Growler. Formed in 2012 the production and DJ duo have been hard at work in recent months building up a repertoire of cutting edge breakbeat and tech funk!

The lads recently won the Thrust Recordings Remix Competition with their tech funk remix of the seminal Lee Coombs and Drumattic Twins track Tribal Tension. The remix is available now!

Their latest release is The Thumper EP - Ffirst up on the release is the aptly named Thumper - a straight ahead driver that takes no prisoners. On the flip side is Bats on Acid - a slippery bit of tech-breaky business indeed!

New projects in the pipeline include remixes for V.I.M. Records and Diablo Loco Records.
